About Bittern

Bittern is built by Jamal Mulla, a software engineer in the United Kingdom.

Why it exists

AI now writes a growing share of code, and more AI reviews it. What gets scarce is a person who actually understands the change before it ships. Pull requests are getting bigger, and skimming one and clicking approve is easy.

Bittern is meant to make the careful review the easy one. The AI guide answers questions about any line, from the code itself, so you can follow a change instead of guessing at it. The reviewing and the comments stay yours.

Where it is going

Next: reviewing changes that span several repositories together, then GitLab, Bitbucket and a self-hosted version for teams whose code cannot leave their network.
